Mount Everest

Mount Everest, known officially and locally as Sagarmatha in Nepal,Earth's highest mountain above sea level, located in the Mahalangur Himal sub-range of the Himalayas.Its elevation (snow height) of 8,848.86 m (29,031 ft 8+1⁄2 in) was most recently established in 2020 by the Chinese and Nepali authorities.


1st climber

Sir Edmund Percival Hillary (20 July 1919 – 11 January 2008) was a New Zealand mountaineer, explorer, and philanthropist. On 29 May 1953, Hillary and Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers confirmed to have reached the summit of Mount Everest. They were part of the ninth British expedition to Everest, led by John Hunt.

1st Women in the world climb the everest

Junko Tabei was a Japanese mountaineer, author, and teacher who was the first woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest. She was born on September 22, 1939 and died on October 20, 2016. Tabei was also the first woman to ascend the Seven Summits, climbing the highest peak on every continent.

Sagarmatha

Mt Everest, known as the highest mountain in the world, stands at a stunning height of 8,848.86 meters above sea level. The mountain’s name has cultural roots as well; it is called “Sagarmatha” in Nepali and “Chomolungma” in Tibetan, both of which hold significant meaning in their respective cultures.
